“This is a vision I’ve had since 2005, and I’ve always wanted to have my own business,” Rodgers said. “People need to have clean clothes, and I envisioned something much more upscale than a regular Laundromat.”
Rogers has a degree in Aviation Management for Utah Valley State College and is a professional pilot. Besides managing Washateria, Rodgers is a captain on a corporate jet for a private operator in India for Krishnapatnam Port Company. Rodgers is also the owner of Trans Word Air, LLC.
Washateria enjoys a diverse customer base and is only located in South City, with plans for expansion a work in process.
“I would like to see Washateria expand to other locations in St. Louis,” Rodgers said. “Maybe eventually turn into a franchise.”
Washateria provides self-service as well as drop off laundry and dry cleaning services. Pick-up and delivery is also available. Pricing ranges from $0-$10 and regular business hours are Mon-Sun 7 a.m. til 10 p.m.
According to Rodgers, Washateria has been a huge success so far. “Everyone who has come in has shown a real appreciation and respect for it. I want Washateria to have an open feeling that customers have never experienced before. I want people to enjoy and have a pleasant time while here. Washateria offers arcade games and free Wi-Fi while waiting on their clothes.”
