ST. LOUIS, May 26, 2017 — The final print edition of Vital VOICE Magazine, the Midwest’s premier lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) informational source for a modern life+style has hit the presses. Effective June 1, 2017, the publication will transition to an online-only resource for the local LGBT community.

“Print will always be an excellent medium for the right audience,” James Lesch, Vital VOICE publisher and co-owner, says. “What we found with Vital VOICE is that we were trying to reach a niche audience that now calls the entire St. Louis area home, rather than just a few gayborhoods. We are also communicating with a new generation who has changing needs and interests.”

The staff of Vital VOICE will continue to develop original content, and the publication will remain a lifestyle and LGBT news resource for the community digitally.

“Over the past thirty years, we have brought the LGBT community into the mainstream as a relevant audience,” Darin Slyman, Vital VOICE CEO and co-owner, says. “We built a strong brand along with a strong business, and we couldn’t be more proud of the impact we have made on the community. We’re excited to start a new chapter in our company and try something completely new while keeping Vital VOICE alive online.”

“We have some exciting features in the works for Vital VOICE, and our readers will still be able to find the stories and resources they’ve come to expect,” Lesch says.

Lesch and Slyman are encouraging the community to come together to celebrate this milestone transition at Queens in Space: Return of the Divas on June 1 at the Moonrise Hotel. The event will launch the final print edition, which is also the annual Pride Issue, and kick off National Pride Month. Nationally known drag queens including RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 1 Winner Chad Michaels as CHER and RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Five star Jade Jolie as Taylor Swift will be featured at the party. A portion of the proceeds raised will benefit the SIBA (Stevens – The Institute of Business & Arts) Scholarship Foundation. Tickets are available at V
