“The Cure” – Lady Gaga
It’s not hard to fall for Gaga’s catchy hits. Remember “Poker Face” and “Bad Romance?” This year Gaga wants to heal your dance woes with “The Cure.” After headlining Coachella in April, the Lady herself surprised fans with this smooth dance track.
“Green Light” – Lorde
If “Royals” by New Zealand songwriter Lorde wasn’t enough to cleanse your palate, have no fear. Lorde is back with a new album in June. New single “Green Light” is the perfect break-free anthem to get down to or pick you up this summer.
“Despacito” – Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Justin Beiber
Don’t worry if you don’t speak Spanish, “Despacito” is still a huge Latin dance music hit and will keep your toes tapping. Beiber shows his maturity as an artist on this fun summer beat you wont want to miss.
“Symphony” – Clean Bandit featuring Zara Larsson
If you love a Whitney-style love song with a fun beat, look no further. Clean Bandit broke into the scene with “Rather Be” a few years ago, and Zara Larsson topped the charts with “Ain’t My Fault.” The two collaborated for an energizing, uplifting song that shouldn’t be overlooked.
“Stay” – Zedd & Alessia Cara
Speaking of catchy love songs, breakout star Alessia Cara partnered with everyone’s favorite EDM artist Zedd in this slow-to-start but gradually booming and brilliant dance track. No Pride would be complete without the tropical sounds of summer, and Zedd knows how to make people move.
“HUMBLE.” – Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick has proven himself in the rap game, and with the release of DAMN., he’s only further proving he is one of the best. HUMBLE. is a catchy clap-back at his haters, and even if you don’t know the back story, it’s still perfect for any summer playlist.
“Swalla” – Jason Derulo featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign
Absolutely no one does summer hits better than Nicki Minaj, and although she may not be the main artist on this fun new beat, she brings her A-game. Derulo returns with a club anthem that is sure to get stuck in your head.
“Swish Swish” – Katy Perry featuring Nicki Minaj
Another Minaj feature that is a must-hear, “Swish Swish” is Katy Perry’s third single on the new album Witness coming later this year. If you want to “just strut,” it’s time to get out your heels. Perry keeps the sassy tempo, and Minaj brings the heat on this clap-back-inspired, diva dance beat.
“It Ain’t Me” – Kygo & Selena Gomez
The EDM train has just left the station, and we have another exciting passenger to mention. Kygo, the down tempo dance producer, brings long-time hit maker Gomez to this “Dancing on My Own” style dance track.
“Paris” – The Chainsmokers
Despite the more dance-centric “Closer” that came out last year, “Paris” is still a song you’ll want to hear on your summer playlist. It’s a romantic song that you and your partner or your friends can belt together at the club or by the pool.
“Scuse Me” – Lizzo
Manhattan-based Lizzo is a sassy queen who isn’t afraid to show it. With a sound similar to Missy Elliot, you wont want to miss this self-love anthem that will make you want to move. Plus, you can catch Lizzo at LouFest later in the year.
“Malibu” – Miley Cyrus
Miley returns this summer with a much more tropical, indie vibe than the last time we saw her. “Malibu” is a song Miley wrote for lover Liam Hemsworth while driving around in California. It shows in the soft, catchy vibe of the tune.
“Slow Hands” – Niall Horan
One Direction may not be singing together anymore, but they sure can slay no matter what. ZAYN started the cycle with “Pillowtalk” last year, and Harry Styles brought the soul to “Sign of the Times,” even Liam Payne gets sexy with “Strip That Down.” It’s Niall’s sultry, upbeat “Slow Hands” that will make you really want to grind.
“That’s What I Like” – Bruno Mars
It’s no surprise that Bruno Mars released a song that is a major hit, he is a master at his craft. But this summer, if you’re not listening to “That’s What I Like” you’re missing out. Prepare to get down.
“Now or Never” – Halsey
Halsey is no stranger to the music industry, and last year, she made a huge wave with The Chainsmokers in the hit song “Closer.” This year she is coming back with her sophomore album, and the lead single is one to pay attention to.
