Bar fans who thought “Freddie’s Dead?” are getting Just John for their patience.
The longtime bar at 4112-4114 Manchester St., — which was formerly called Manchester Street before becoming Freddie’s — has been closed since late January. Construction and promise of “A New Day” via a banner hung from the structure’s roof have dwelled there instead of cocktails and revelers.
