Taking the Vital VOICE to the next level

Dear Readers,

We have some changes a brewing over here at the Vital VOICE. For those who have not heard, Darin (Dsly) Slyman has joined us as Associate Publisher. "Dsly" is known by many and brings a high level of energy and enthusiasm to the paper. He is set to apply his many talents to the Vital VOICE in raising it to the next level. Please join me in welcoming him to the fold.

In addition to his column, Vital STYLE, which will appear every other month, Darin is planning our first big event the week of PrideFest! Mark your calendar and come celebrate you, your community, your unity and your pride with the Vital VOICE by attending our inaugural "U"nity Party! Pride St. Louis is joining us and we want you to kick off St. Louis Pride week in your own Vital STYLE way!

The event will take place on June 23, 2009 @ Mandarin Lounge in the Central West End. We will begin disseminating information via our website @ www.thevitalvoice.com, via facebook, VOICEmail and e-blasts. Let’s make this inaugural event a "blowOUT"!!

The Vital VOICE welcomes another familiar face to our staff, Will Roth. He will be reaching out to you to advertise your business, event or service in the paper as well as the Pride Pages. Don’t hesitate to contact him to discuss your advertising needs.

In a year where the LGBT community appears to be out all over, St. Louis is not a city that is thought of as out and open. We are very proud to be working with Opera Theater of St. Louis with their first ever "Out at the Opera" series. Let’s show our appreciation of Opera Theater’s support of the LGBT community and make this a "sellOUT"! If you have not reserved your tickets, please do so as soon as possible.
