Lifestyle brand Grindr makes their first major foray into digital publishing with Into. An eclectic collection of articles, videos, photography, and more that celebrate and represent the modern LGBTQ world, Into will serve as a barometer for everything from fashion and music to current events and practical advice for their community.
“After hearing from our very engaged 3 million daily active users, it became clear that giving them content, through Into, that has a global perspective, but is also personalized and local will help them connect to a whole range of things they need in their day to day life,” explains Joel Simkhai, Founder and CEO of Grindr.
Over several months, Grindr has been establishing a roster of contributors for Into including photographers, writers, and filmmakers such as the late Ren Hang, Michael Bailey Gates and Slava Mogutin, working at the intersection of emerging LGBTQ culture and what in-the-know audiences are talking about.
From these voices comes a wide range of relevant, engaging content: City portraits showcasing hot date spots in LA to vibrant visuals of Paris nightlife. Intimate interviews featuring provocative European artists to gay couples in Sao Paolo. Humorous pop culture commentary includes everything from the How to Escape a Bad Date to Pokémon. How-to’s spotlight grooming routines for 20-somethings and expert product recommendations.
“When you have creators of all kinds, from artists to social activists to cultural influencers, we are able to curate everything from real time accounts of where to go in cities around the world, to information on the hottest trends from people creating them, to first person accounts of events impacting the LGBTQ world every day,” states Landis Smithers, Creative Director of Grindr. “Into is going to be a healthy mix of accessible, informative, and uplifting content every day.”
Acting as a digital window into the LGBTQ world, Into will mine Grindr user stories and real-time global accounts of life in other countries in a further effort to connect people to all aspects of their lives. Into is all-inclusive, and open to everyone with a message or story that needs to be heard. V
