Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design’s Executive Director Boo McLoughlin and Board of Directors Chair Vicki Sauter are thrilled to announce a $200,000 commitment of support from the Windgate Charitable Foundation. The award includes a $100,000 operating grant, and a $100,000 Challenge Grant.

Windgate support, and matching funds raised through the challenge, will enhance Craft Alliance’s core operations including in-depth classes in craft media (clay, fibers, metals, wood, glass, and 3-D printing and digital media), a need-based Scholarship Fund (which provides more than 200 scholarships annually), world-class exhibitions, and extensive school and community outreach programs throughout the St. Louis bi-state region.

“The $100,000 Challenge Grant—which will match dollar-for-dollar donations made by December 31, 2016—is a wonderful vote of confidence in the generosity of the St. Louis community and its commitment to supporting Craft Alliance,” said McLoughlin. “Craft Alliance, one of the leading craft-focused art centers in the nation, is honored to receive the generous Windgate challenge, and grateful for the enthusiastic response to the challenge from our donors thus far.” With a leadership gift of $20,000 from Nancy and Ken Kranzberg, Craft Alliance already has raised $39,000 towards the goal. We look to the broader St. Louis community to help us meet this challenge, and look forward to sharing the singular programming it will make possible.
