CHICAGO – Equality Illinois, the state’s oldest and largest LGBT advocacy organization, announced, July 7 that during June, the first month that civil unions were available to couples in Illinois, 1,618 total civil union licenses were issued throughout the state.  Of the state’s 102 counties, 83 counties reported issuing at least one or more licenses.
