LOUIS—Chefs Casey Shiller, Certified Executive Pastry Chef, and Dana Holland of longtime LGBT supporter, Jilly’s Cupcake Bar & Café will appear in the third episode of the third season of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, which airs Tuesday, June 28. Teammates Shiller and Holland will compete against three other teams in a nationally-televised baking battle for a $10,000 grand prize. Jilly’s Cupcake Bar & Café is the first St. Louis-based business to appear on Cupcake Wars, as well as the first team in the show’s history to represent a business from the state of Missouri.

“The Visit” @ Stray Dog Theatre

The Visit is subtitled “A Tragic Comedy,” and I believe that accurately describes this classic drama (1956) which is currently receiving an excellent production from Stray Dog Theatre.  I need to say up front that I don’t know much about Swiss playwright Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s work, so I’m approaching this material as an audience member, not an expert. So, with that in mind, the following is what I saw in this intricate, finely wrought play.
