The hype-machine is up and running and it’s time for more QFest reviews! We also want to give you another reason why YOU should attend this year’s festival.

Reason Two: QFest is “keke” approved! For those who are unfamiliar with the term, keke is the act of joking, laughing and basically enjoying one’s life among queers. The following three films each bring something unique to QFest and they’re the kind of movies you won’t see at your local megaplex: two raunchy gay-sex comedies and an indie-lesbian romantic comedy. There’s a lot in here that the straight viewer may not get but that’s not your concern. Just sit back and enjoy because these movies are proof that queers have more fun.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—A majority of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults who answered a national online survey believe that staff of long-term care facilities would discriminate against an LGBT elder who was open about his or her sexual orientation, and more than half believe that staff or other residents would abuse or neglect an LGBT elder.

Donius Inducted to HRC Nat. Board

William A. (“Bill”) Donius was inducted on to the National Board of Directors of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), March 30.  Donius is the first St. Louisan to hold this position, marking yet another victory for equality in the Midwest.  Members of HRC’s Federal Club met at Donius’ home in Ladue to celebrate, bringing in its national executive director, Joe Solmonese.

It’s odd that in the late 1960s, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown would have resonated with a population in turmoil, but perhaps that’s exactly why it did.
